The 'Rockstar' hitmaker is one of 16 passengers on a private plane that had an emergency landing during a flight from New Jersey to England.

AceShowbiz - Rapper Post Malone is bracing himself for an emergency landing after the tires of the private plane hired to take him and his crew to England reportedly blew during take-off on Tuesday, August 21.

The Rockstar hitmaker and his posse were leaving Teterboro Airport in New Jersey just before 11am local time, en route to Luton, when the tires of their private plane exploded, forcing the pilot to circle back and alert air traffic control officials he would be performing an emergency landing.

According to TMZ sources, the guy flying the plane was told to head for Massachusetts to burn off more fuel for a safer possible crash landing.

At press time, the plane - a Gulfstream Aerospace GLF-4 - was still in the air, awaiting permission to land.

Reports suggest the pilot was initially told to land at Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport in Westfield, Massachusetts, but it now appears the plane has been diverted to Stewart Airport, located north of New York City.

The rapper is one of 16 passengers on board.

Post Malone's fans are concerned for his welfare and have been tracking his whereabouts in the air using online flight tracker service Flightradar24.

"Just watching @PostMalone plane about to cry no big deal," one anxious devotee wrote on Twitter, as country music duo Dan + Shay lamented: "On edge about this @PostMalone situation. Sending all the love and positive vibes to him and his crew for a safe landing. So scary".

Tuesday's air scare comes hours after Post Malone performed at the 2018 MTV VMAs with 21 Savage and Aerosmith. The tattooed rapper also picked up the Song of the Year trophy for Rockstar.

Post Malone is scheduled to perform at a festival in England on Friday, August 24 before he heads to Paris on Sunday for the Rock en Seine event.
