The 'Alien: Covenant' actor finds himself buried alive with demon Valak, who is trying to kill him inside the coffin.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new TV spot for its highly-anticipated horror film "The Nun". The footage reveals one of the scenes from the film, in which Academy Award nominee Demian Bichir is trapped inside a coffin before he finds out that he's not actually alone there.

The frightening TV spot opens with his character, Father Burke, falling into the coffin underground. The coffin is magically closed, trapping him inside as he screams in panic. The scene then switches to show a gravestone which reads, "Here Lies Father Anthony Burke." A bell which is attached to the gravestone can be heard ringing, but nobody seems to hear the sound nor his scream. "Let me out!" the priest shouts again as he struggles to breathe inside the coffin.

Father Burke then stops screaming and uses his lighter to help him see in the dark, while the background sound can't be heard anymore. Two pale hands suddenly appear from behind and hold Father Burke's face as Valak can be seen grinning.

The official synopsis for "The Nun" reads, "When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order's unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in 'The Conjuring 2', as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned."

Besides Bichir, the film stars Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, Jonas Bloquet as local villager Frenchie, Charlotte Hope as Sister Victoria, Ingrid Bisu as Sister Oana and Bonnie Aarons who will play the demonic nun, Valak.

The film is helmed by Corin Hardy, who is known for his work on "The Hallow", while James Wan and Peter Safran serve as the producers. "The Nun" will hit U.S. theaters on September 7.
