Her single 'I Like It' and collaboration with Maroon 5 'Girls Like You' are nominated for Song of the Summer Award.

AceShowbiz - Rapper Cardi B has extended her lead over all nominees for the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards after snagging another two nods for Song of the Summer.

The new mum dominated the main VMAs shortlist with 10 nominations when it was unveiled last month, but now she will also have double the chance of winning the Song of the Summer category too, thanks to I Like It, her latest hit with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, and her Maroon 5 collaboration Girls Like You.

The other contenders for the prize are Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa's One Kiss, DJ Khaled's No Brainer, featuring Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, and Quavo, Post Malone's Better Now, Boo'd Up by Ella Mai, Juice WRLD's Lucid Dreams, and Drake's chart smash In My Feelings, which has been given a huge bump in popularity thanks to the song's viral dance challenge.

Voting is open to the public online until Thursday, August 16, and the winner will be announced on Monday, August 20, when the MTV Video Music Awards will take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Fans have also been invited to help determine the victor in top categories like Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, and Best New Artist - all of which Cardi is competing in.

Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and Shawn Mendes will be among the performers at the ceremony, while Jennifer Lopez will be gracing the stage to sing for the first time since 2001 as she is presented with the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Meanwhile, the Backstreet Boys, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, rapper G-Eazy, Olivia Munn, Blake Lively, DJ Khaled, Rita Ora, Liam Payne, and Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart have been announced as guest presenters.
