Culkin accepts he would be a lot richer if he'd signed on, but he's still glad he didn't.

AceShowbiz - Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin turned down a lead role in The Big Bang Theory three times, because he didn't want to play a nerd on TV.

The former child star reveals he had to keep saying no to show bosses, and even his own manager, when the offer kept coming back.

"They pursued me for The Big Bang Theory and I said no," Mac told podcast host Joe Rogan. "It was kind of, like, the way the pitch was, 'Alright, these two astrophysicist nerds and a pretty girl lives with them... Yoinks!' That was the pitch.

"I was like, 'Yeah, I'm cool, thanks'. And then they came back at me again, and I said, 'No, no, no. Again, flattered, but no'. Then they came back at me again, and even my manager was, like, twisting my arm."

Culkin accepts he would be a lot richer if he'd signed on, but he's still glad he didn't.

"I'd have hundreds of millions of dollars right now if I did that gig," he smiled. "At the same time, I'd be bashing my head against the wall."

He didn't make it clear if TV bosses wanted him for the role played by Jim Parsons or Johnny Galecki.
