The two comedians share an identical open letter challenging a comment Ivanka made earlier this month where she referred to the issue of family separation as a 'low point' for her.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer and Chelsea Handler are among the public figures urging Ivanka Trump to end family separation at the U.S./Mexico border.
A number of celebrities have taken to Instagram to share an open letter addressed to the daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump encouraging her and the Trump administration to end the ongoing border separation issue, which saw over 2,300 children displaced from their parents between May and June.
Alexa Chung, Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso, and Girls showrunner Jenni Konner joined the Trainwreck actress and Chelsea Lately star in uploading identical posts addressed to the first daughter, in which they challenge a comment she made at an event in Washington earlier this month where she referred to the issue of family separation as a "low point" for her.
"Dear Ivanka. You follow me on social media," the open letter begins. "You said family separation was a 'low point' for you. The low point is for the separated families. You spoke in past tense. This crisis is ongoing. As of now, 57 children have not been reunited. A child has died after separation. Approximately 400 parents have been deported without their children. There have been multiple claims of sexual and physical abuse in detention. There have been psychotropic drugs administered to children in detention without parental consent."
The social media post also implored Ivanka to call for the resignation of the Secretary for Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, who implemented the policy of separating parents and children who crossed over the U.S./Mexico border illegally.
While Trump signed an order banning the separation in June, the administration's "zero tolerance" policy of persecuting illegal border crossings remains in place.
"These abuses have occurred on your father's watch and under the leaderships of Secretary Nielsen," the post continued. "End these racist, inhuman and unconscionable abuses now! We demand you call for the resignation of Secretary Nielsen."
The groups plea comes a month after Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal led a star-studded cast in reciting a letter written by a migrant mother, who had been separated from her 18-month-old son at the Mexico border earlier this year, in a defiant stand against the policy.
