'Pink was admitted to hospital in Sydney on Sunday night, suffering from dehydration,' the singer's rep says in a statement.

AceShowbiz - Pink has been hospitalised in Australia after suffering from dehydration caused by a gastric virus.

The "Just Like a Pill" singer, 38, is on tour "Down Under" but was forced to pull out of a concert at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on Friday, August 03 due to a respiratory illness and has now postponed a second date there due to a stomach bug.

In a statement, her tour promoters Live Nation wrote that the star was admitted to and discharged from hospital on Sunday, the day after she did make it on stage for the first of nine Sydney gigs. However, the popstar pulled out of Monday's show after she was readmitted and diagnosed with the gastric virus.

"Pink was admitted to hospital in Sydney on Sunday night, suffering from dehydration," the statement, posted via the Live Nation AUS & NZ Twitter account, reads. "She was treated and discharged. She was readmitted to hospital today and diagnosed with a gastric virus. On medical advice Pink will remain in hospital overnight, continuing her treatment and recovery."

Live Nation bosses also indicated that they will update fans when more information becomes available.

She is currently scheduled to perform at the Qudos Bank Arena on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Pink, real name Alecia Beth Moore, was forced to issue an emotional statement explaining her absence on Friday after she was snapped by paparazzi relaxing on a beach in Byron Bay with her seven-year-old daughter Willow.

"I scheduled this tour meticulously, trying to do what was best for my children, while also putting on the best and most physically demanding and beautiful show of my life," she wrote. "This break in Byron has been scheduled since 2017, as a way to get outside the hotel and the winter and have some time with my children."

The singer explained that the paparazzi pictures don't show her going to the doctors twice in two days, her friends entertaining Willow while she lay down on the beach, or her taking medication including antibiotics and steroids.

Pink added: "I'm doing the absolute best I can, and you can believe it or not. I will see everyone tomorrow whether I'm better or not, and the postponed show will be rescheduled. As I said, I'm sorry to the real fans who this situation has affected. Onwards and upwards."
