Jessica Lange Returns for 'American Horror Story: Apocalypse'

Reprising her 'Murder House' character Constance Langdon, Jessica is set to appear in episode 6 of the upcoming installment of the FX anthology series.

AceShowbiz - Rejoice, "American Horror Story" fans! After long speculation, Jessica Lange has been confirmed to return for "American Horror Story: Apocalypse". The FX anthology series vet is set to reprise her role as Constance Langdon from "Murder House" in the upcoming season 8.

The franchise staple Sarah Paulson shared the exciting news during the show's panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Friday, August 4. "I do have the great pleasure of letting you all know that, yes, she will be back," Sarah said of Jessica, who last appeared in the show's fourth season "American Horror Story: Freak Show".

"Jessica will be returning as Constance [Langdon] in an episode that I'm going to direct," the star shared. Sarah went on saying that Jessica's would appear in episode six of the anthology horror series. "It starts in the real world. It's very tangible and it's a familiar character... If the apocalypse is the launching point, if that's what launches it, well then, what's the fantasy of what happens next? If we're still here then the world didn't completely end."

Jessica's return has been long awaited and people specifically expect that she will return to the franchise in the season, which is a crossover between season 1 "Murder House" and season 3 "Coven". Prior to this, "American Horror Story" tapped Cody Fern to play the grown-up version of Michael Langdon, the child of Tate Langdon (Evan Peters) and Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton) in "Murder House".

"Apocalypse" will also star Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman and Joan Collins. Collins is portraying the grandmother of Evan' hairdresser character with Kathy portraying Miss Meade. Leslie is cast as Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt while Adina plays Dinah Stevens.

As for Emma, she will once again play her "Coven" character Madison Montgomery. Meanwhile, Sarah is set to reprise her roles as Cordelia Foxx from "Coven" and Billie Dean from "Murder House". She will also play a new character named Venable.

In addition to announcing Jessica's return, the panelist revealed that FX had handed out a season 10 renewal for "American Horror Story". The early renewal arrives ahead of season 8 "Apocalypse" premiere on September 12 on FX.
