'I am really regretful that my mom put those out there,' she says, adding that she doesn't look through his dad Kurt's journals.

AceShowbiz - Frances Bean Cobain doesn't read her late dad Kurt's journals as she disagrees with her mother Courtney Love's decision to publish his "deep, dark thoughts".

The 25-year-old was just 19 months old when her rock star father committed suicide in April 1994, and confesses she has no real memories of him.

Despite this, she has resisted the temptation to find out more about the Nirvana frontman's inner life by reading his journals, which Courtney agreed to publish in 2002.

"I don't look through his journals. It feels too intimate," she tells the Irish Independent. "I am really regretful that my mom put those out there. I know it was her way of trying to contribute his personal thoughts and I know that people really want to know that. I can't imagine being dead and having people know my intimate thoughts."

Frances described the publication of the journals, which include Kurt's drawings as well as jottings documenting his thoughts, plans for Nirvana and his battle with undiagnosed stomach pains and addiction, as an "invasion of privacy".

She added: "I don't think it is merited especially since in his art he decided not to put out that thinking. It is a different thing to get to know him through his art, a deliberate public extension of himself."

The star explained that although she loved her father's art, including his music and paintings, she felt wrong reading about his inner life as she feels he wouldn't want others reading about his "personal, deep, dark thoughts".

Frances and Kurt's mother recently launched an exhibition of his personal items and drawings in County Kildare, Ireland and she is following in her dad's footsteps by taking an interest in music and the visual arts.

Her works have featured in a Los Angeles exhibition and on the anniversary of her dad's death in April she shared her first ever composition - a song with lyrics referencing longing and loss.
