AceShowbiz - Tina Turner bid an emotional farewell to her late son by scattering his ashes at sea off the coast of California last week (end July 22).

The music legend, 78, lost her son Craig Raymond Turner at the age of 59 when his body was discovered at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles earlier this month. Officials from the L.A. coroner's office later confirmed that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On Thursday, July 26 Tina posted a picture on Instagram, showing her solemnly holding a rose over the side of a boat as she and her family said goodbye to her beloved son the week before.

She captioned the image: "My saddest moment as a mother. On Thursday, July 19, 2018, I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California. He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby."

The "Private Dancer" singer was just 18 years old when she gave birth to Craig, following a relationship with saxophonist Raymond Hill, who played in her future husband Ike Turner's band.

She went on to wed Ike in 1962, and he adopted Tina and Ray's son as his own.

Craig, who reportedly worked as a real estate agent in California, was the first of Tina's two biological children.

In 1960, she also welcomed a son named Ronnie with Ike, and adopted two of the bandleader's other kids, Michael and Ike Jr.

Tina, who moved to Switzerland in 1994, told Oprah Winfrey in a 2005 interview that Craig was an "emotional" child who had witnessed Ike's spousal abuse.

"They (her kids) saw the black eyes," she said. "Ike's children never reacted, but my oldest son, Craig, was a very emotional kid. He'd always look down in sadness."
