According to a source, there 'have been definitely signs' that the former Disney darling 'isn't doing great with her sobriety.'

AceShowbiz - Many were surprised and shocked after news broke that Demi Lovato was hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose. But her overdose apparently doesn't come as a surprise for those close to the singer as they say that they noticed the red flags for months.
"You could tell when Demi was doing well with her sobriety because she wasn't hanging out at clubs," a source tells PEOPLE. "She has still very much kept up her work schedule and daily life, but there have definitely been signs that she isn't doing great with her sobriety."
A second source adds that "things have been a total mess for months. She and her team severed ties, and they played a large part in getting her sober years ago. She hasn't been in a good place." As fans of the "Sorry Not Sorry" hitmaker may recall, there may be a rift between her and her life coach Mike Bayer when she tweeted a cryptic message which was allegedly directed at him.
Meanwhile, another insider suggests that Demi "was never really clean and sober" even though she revealed she had relapsed just recently. "She has been fighting depression and anxiety for quite some time and is still in such a dark place," the source shares. "She was sober for a while, but not completely sober for six years."
Demi was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 24 after being found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home around noon. Her rep has confirmed that the star is "awake" and is surrounded by her family. "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now," the rep said in a statement.
Two days before her hospitalization, the singer hit the stage in Paso Robles for her "Tell Me You Love Me World Tour". A concertgoer told Entertainment Tonight that Demi "didn't seem under the influence" during the concert, adding that she "was in a great mood" and "was her normal enthusiastic Demi-self."
