The daughter of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is brought in to fill the void left by Farrah Abraham.

AceShowbiz - Bristol Palin is back on TV as part of MTV's "Teen Mom OG". The daughter of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is joining the cast of the reality series to fill the void left by original cast member Farrah Abraham.

According to production sources, the 27-year-old public speaker and TV personality has signed on as a series regular on the show. Variety has confirmed the news which was first reported by TMZ, but MTV declined to comment on the news.

Bristol became a mom at 17 years old. Her pregnancy was announced during her mother Sarah Palin's unsuccessful run for vice president alongside John McCain in 2008. She gave birth to her son with her then-fiance Levi Johnston, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston-Palin, in December 2008.

Bristol and Levi ended their engagement in March 2009, which led to a bitter custody battle. In July 2010, the pair announced that they had reunited and were again engaged, only to broke it off for the second time less than three weeks later.

Bristol was engaged to Dakota Meyer, a former Marine and Medal of Honor recipient, in March 2015. They planned to tie the knot in May 2015, but it was called off just a few days prior to the scheduled wedding.

Bristol announced she was pregnant with her second child in June 2015, admitting that the pregnancy was "not the ideal situation" but was "planned." She gave birth to daughter Sailor Grace Palin on December 23, 2015. She and Dakota married in June 2016 and welcomed their second child together, a daughter named Atlee Bay, on May 8, 2017. She and Dakota announced they separated and had filed for divorce in February this year, but have since reconciled.

Bristol starred on Lifetime's show "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" and competed in "Dancing with the Stars" season 15 which aired in fall 2012.

As for Farrah Abraham, she starred on the original series "16 and Pregnant" which premiered in 2009 and its revival "Teen Mom" (renamed "Teen Mom OG") which debuted in 2015. She was fired from the show last year as she continues to pursue her career as an adult entertainer.
