It's reported that the upcoming Arrowverse crossover, which will introduce the first lesbian superhero, will be a three-part event.

AceShowbiz - Fans of DC Comics are thrilled when it's announced that Batwoman won't only be featured in the annual Arrowverse crossover event, but also get a series of its own on The CW. Now, to escalate fans' excitement, more details of the new TV series of the first gay superhero has found its way out online.

According to That Hashtag Show, the show, which will be written by Caroline Dries ("Smallville"), "The Vampire Diaries"), is seeking an openly gay actresses of any ethnicity to play Kate Kane a.k.a. Batwoman. The actress has to be between 25-29.

The site also reveals a synopsis of the titular character which reads, "Kate is fully aware of how bad-ass she is whenever she enters a room, even though she prefers to put a smile on your face. Young Ms. Kane is physically and intellectually confident while being a woman who is proud to be openly gay. However, Kate still deals with her inner demons that go back to her history with her dad."

"Their relationship is quite complicated as she struggles to get praise from him. She once aspired to have a successful military career, but those dreams sadly came to an end as she was kicked out of West Point once she came out of the closet. But that didn't stop her from becoming the crime-fighting vigilante known as Batwoman," the character summary continues. "Striking fear into the criminals she fights, Kate is someone who must also fight the complications of living a double life, both as a citizen and hero of Gotham. While she has her shield up when fighting criminals, she lets herself be vulnerable when dating women."

The TV adaptation of "Batwoman" will be executive produced by Dries alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns.

In addition, the site reports that the upcoming crossover, which will introduce Batwoman, will be a three-part event. The annual crossover is set to spread across "Arrow", "The Flash" and "Supergirl" and takes place in Gotham City.

"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" is absent from the upcoming crossover for an unknown reasons. Fans, however, assume that it's because the Legends may not be a perfect fit for a story set in Gotham City.
