The actor also says in an interview, 'I call this the summer of freedom because now people can tell their stories.'

AceShowbiz - Actor Terry Crews is amazed by the support he has received since coming forward with his accusations of sexual assault against a Hollywood agent.

The Expendables star alleged he had been groped by Hollywood agent Adam Venit at a party in 2016 amid the start of the #MeToo movement last October (17) and he has since been publicly vocal about his trauma from the event.

Last month he even gave evidence before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee to advocate for the Sexual Assault Survivors' Bill of Rights and the 49 year old explains he continues to be amazed by the support he is receiving from fans after testifying about the importance of the legislation.

"It's been absolutely amazing," he told U.S. chat show The Talk on Friday, July 13. "I call this the summer of freedom because now people can tell their stories. Whether you are a man, woman, or child... I was there at the Senate meeting with the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize nominee..., who is a rape survivor..., and she just blew me away with what she was doing. We were there for the Sexual Assault Survivor's Bill of Rights, which was passed federally, but we were trying to get this thing out to every state..."

"That was most important that we go to the next step, what are we going to do now?," he added. "My big thing was, 'Let's take this to the next level, let's not just talk about it, let's do something about it. And the more we talk, the more we realise what we have to do'."

Terry is still battling agent Venit, who he accused of grabbing his genitals, and his employer the William Morris Endeavor agency in a lawsuit he filed over the molestation claims. The agent was suspended for 30 days last fall, as company bosses investigated the story, but he was eventually invited back to work at the agency in a demoted role.
