The trailer reveals that Lively's character doesn't want to be photographed and detaches herself from her best friend.

AceShowbiz - Lionsgate Movies has released a new trailer for its upcoming movie "A Simple Favor" starring "Gossip Girl" actress Blake Lively and "Pitch Perfect" star Anna Kendrick. Lively will play wealthy, fashionable and mysterious friend Emily Nelson, while Kendrick will take the role of Emily's best friend Stephanie Ward. "Crazy Rich Asian" actor Henry Golding also joins them as Emily's husband Sean Nelson.

In the trailer, Stephanie and Emily meet at their sons' school and hang out after their sons ask for a play date. "Does your kid drink? Maybe? It's never too late to start teaching them," Emily jokingly says. Afterwards, the two are seen getting along well as they laugh and have a drink in Emily's house and even trade confessions.

Emily starts to show her mysterious side in the next scene when Stephanie takes her picture. "Do you save my picture?" she asks her best friend, seemingly annoyed before she tells her to erase it. "I guess I'm not the kinda person you wanna be friends with," Stephanie says. "Oh you do not wanna be friends with me. Trust me," the wealthy girl answers mysteriously.

"She's an enigma, my wife," Emily's husband tells Stephanie. "You could get close to her. You never quite reach her. She's like a beautiful ghost." Things get complicated when Emily disappears after asking Stephanie to pick up her son at school. The vlogger starts to look for her around the small town. "You go poking around in her past, you're going to find something that is terrifying," an artist warns Stephanie in one scene. "She was not a normal person like you or me. I've never seen such a beautiful girl want to be so invisible."

Meanwhile, Stephanie doesn't seem to be as innocent as she looks when the trailer reveals she has sex with Emily's husband.

Directed by Paul Feig, "A Simple Favor" offers a story which is filled with twists, betrayals, secrets, revelations, love, loyalty, murder and revenge. The official plot centers around mommy vlogger Stephanie who tries to uncover the truth about her best friend Emily's sudden disappearance from their small town.

The pseudo neo-noir thriller will hit U.S. cinemas on September 14.
