Some royal fans speculate that the reason might be due to her health issue, but it apparently has nothing to do with it.

AceShowbiz - Prince William and Kate Middleton's third child Prince Louis was christened at the Chapel Royal in St. James' Palace in London on Monday, July 9. While many royal family members gathered for the occasion, Queen Elizabeth II was noticeably absent during the event.

According to the Press Association, the decision was "mutually agreed" between the 92-year-old monarch, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Some royal fans speculate that the reason might be due to her health issue, but it apparently has nothing to do with health reason. Her absence is likely due to her busy schedule.

The queen is expected to attend a celebration of the Royal Air Force centenary on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, July 10 and host a meeting with President Donald Trump at Windsor Castle on Friday, July 13.

Her husband Prince Philip did not attend the event as well because he has been retired from royal duty since the fall of 2017. Despite the couple's absence, a palace source notes that everyone in the family is "comfortable with the arrangement."

Even though the royal baby's great-grandparents weren't in attendance, he was still surrounded by family and friends on the special day. Prince Charles and Camila attended the event, and so did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. His service was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby. The Archbishop christened Prince George in October 2013 and Charlotte in July 2015. He also officiated the Duke and Duchess of Sussex' royal wedding.

Guests who attended the christening were served tea and fruit cake, which was originally baked for and served at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding in 2011. Designed by Fiona Cairns, the cake consisted of 17 individual fruit cakes and had eight tiers. It was decorated with roughly 900 flowers and leaves using cream and white icing.
