The Oscar-winning actor and others, including Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep and Brad Pitt, will reportedly receive the money owed to them by Harvey Weinstein's now-defunct movie studio.

AceShowbiz - Robert De Niro, and a host of other Hollywood stars, will reportedly receive the money owed to them by Harvey Weinstein's now-defunct movie studio.

According to editors at Page Six, the prospective buyer of the Weinstein Co. has agreed to cover claims made by the Oscar-winning actor and others - including Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep and Brad Pitt - paving the way for the studio's sale.

De Niro has yet to be paid $940,706 (£709,457) for the 2012 movie "Silver Linings Playbook", which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Lantern Entertainment, which has agreed to pay $289 million (£217 million) for the studio co-founded by the disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, originally argued that since the contracts for De Niro and others were no longer active, it wasn't responsible for paying them.

After further talks, Lantern agreed to pay the claims.

Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts each claim to be owed $168,611 (£127,162) for their participation in "August: Osage County", while George Clooney is still waiting to collect $250,000 (£188,544) for producing the movie.

Brad Pitt is also allegedly owed $278,865 (£210,313) for 2012 thriller "Killing Them Softly".
