The 38-year-old actress/singer slams critics, suggesting to do other things instead of worrying 'who's marrying me.'

AceShowbiz - Katharine McPhee slammed online trolls after they criticised the news she and David Foster are engaged.

The composer and arranger popped the question in Capri, during the couple's trip to Italy, and McPhee confirmed the news on social media with a screenshot of a text conversation with Just Jared founder Jared Eng.

"He did it at the top of this mountain in Anacapri. Totally dark only stars. Thankfully he didn't push me off the cliff. He said it was one or the other, And in the end he spared me," she joked.

However, some followers were quick to pass judgement on the couple's age difference, as McPhee is 34, and Foster is 68.

The "Smash" star was quick to come the defence of her new fiance, and took to Twitter to blast the critics three days after news of their engagement was made public.

"Y'all should be worrying more about registering to vote and midterm elections than who's marrying me," McPhee wrote, and added: "Thank you for coming to my TED talk."

The singer and actress also joked about her engagement, and coyly wrote on Twitter: "Guys HELLO! I'm back in America and back on stage tonight. were you saying anything? What did I miss?"
