The character breakdown of the upcoming live-action series suggests that Kay Challis will somehow resemble another popular female character in DC Universe

AceShowbiz - More details about upcoming "Doom Patrol" live-action series, which will serve as the spin-off of "Titans", have found their way out online. The character breakdown sheds light on its heroine, Crazy Jane a.k.a. Kay Challis.

According to a new report by That Hashtag Show, the planned show's version of Kay will somehow resemble another popular female character in DC Universe. Kay is reportedly set to be depicted as a woman in her 20s with several personalities, characterized by the website as "a bit of a Harley Quinn-esque character."

In the comics counterpart, Crazy Jane is a young woman whose multiple personality disorder gives her 64 different individual superpowers. It is something that is caused by a Dominator gene bomb in the Invasion! event.

The site also suggests that Crazy Jane won't appear in the fifth episode "Titans" which is set to center on Doom Patrol members. Instead, she will be a series regular on the planned spin-off.

Crazy Jane was created in February 1989 and debuted in #19 of Doom Patrol Volume 3. She has been a famous member of the group ever since. The character has never been portrayed by anyone, so whoever lands the role will be the first actress to play her.

There is no word about who will play Crazy Jane. Meanwhile, it's said that Kelsey Grammer is being eyed for the role of The Chief.

"Doom Patrol" is a re-imagining of one of DC's most beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol's members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities--but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence--and to protect Earth from what they find.

Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of "Titans", "Doom Patrol" will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.
