The 37-year-old actor attempts to make the Avengers' leader feel younger despite the fact that he is a 100-year-old man now.

AceShowbiz - Captain America a.k.a. Steve Rogers depicter Chris Evans celebrated Independence Day along with his character's birthday on July 4. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Evans wished his 9.3 million followers a happy Fourth of July and declared his love for America. He also made sure that Captain America didn't feel old on his 100th birthday, given the fact that he was born on July 4, 1918 based on his medical records in one of "Captain America: The First Avenger" scenes.

"Happy 4th everyone!!" the actor tweeted. "I love this country and I'm proud of how far we've come. Be safe today!" Evans then went on to wish a happy birthday for the first Avenger. "Also, Happy Birthday to a very good friend of mine. I hear 100 is the new 20," he quipped, assuring his on-screen alter ego that being a 100-year-old man was not a bad thing.

His followers quickly responded to Evan's joke on the comment section. "Happy 4th of July, and happy birthday to my favorite fossil i mean cap...," one person quipped back, referring to "Captain America: The First Avenger" plot when the superhero was frozen in 1943, at the age of 25, before his body was discovered and thawed out in 2011.

"Happy 100th Birthday to that very good friend of yours! He sure still looks 20! And happy 4th of July to you too!" a fan added.

Captain America is much older in the comic books though. It is revealed in "The Adventures of Captain America #1" that Steve Rogers was actually born in 1917, making him a 101-year-old man. He can still fight well both in the comics and the movies despite the fact that he is a centenarian. Recently, he fought against Thanos and his army alongside his pal Bucky Barnes in "Avengers: Infinity War" and eventually, he will come back in "Avengers 4" in 2019.
