Cher to Release New Album in September

The singer admits she's nervous to release the upcoming effort because her voice is 'so different.'

AceShowbiz - Cher has given fans an update on when she plans to release her next album.

The music icon, who has sold more than 100 million records and is recognised as one of the world's top-selling artists, dropped her most recent album, "Closer to the Truth", in 2013.

But on Saturday, June 30, Cher indicated that she is working on new tunes in a Twitter post.

"Think album will be out in sept (September)," she wrote, alongside the fingers crossed and prayer hand emojis.

In another tweet uploaded the following day, Cher explained that while she was excited for her followers to hear her new material she was a little nervous too because her voice is "so different".

"Was sitting here listening &Working on songs & They're SO Different From Originals, It's a little Scary. My voice is So Different. There Are Some I Think Are really good....But SO different (sic)," the 72-year-old divulged.

In addition to working on her songs, Cher has a busy couple of months ahead of her.

The "Believe" hitmaker is gearing up to start promoting her new movie "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again", which is slated to hit cinemas this month, and is also set to perform a string of concerts in Washington, D.C., Las Vegas and at major venues in Australia later in the year.
