The renewal doesn't come as a surprise considering the enormous success and critical acclaims that the series got for the past two seasons.

AceShowbiz - Donald Glover's Earn is not going anywhere soon. FX has just decided to hand out a season 3 renewal for its dramedy "Atlanta".

" 'Atlanta' is phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done," says co-president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions Nick Grad in a statement.

"With 'Atlanta Robbin' Season', Donald and his collaborators elevated the series to even greater heights, building on the enormous success of their award-winning first season," he adds. "We're grateful to the producers and our extraordinary cast and crew for achieving this level of excellence, and we share the excitement with our audience about the third season knowing they will continue to take us to unexpected and thrilling places."

The renewal doesn't come as a surprise considering the enormous success and critical acclaims that the series got for the past two seasons. Among awards that "Atlanta" bagged are two Emmys, two Golden Globes and a Peabody Award. In addition, the comedy is one of the strong performers on the basic-cable network.

Also starring Brian Tyree Henry as up-and-coming rapper Alfred "Paper Boi" Miles, Lakeith Stanfield as Alfred's right-hand man and visionary Darius Epps, and Zazie Beetz as Earn's on-again-off-again girlfriend Vanessa "Van" Keefer, "Atlanta" debuted in September 2016. It follows Earn, a college dropout who starts managing the career of his rapper cousin Alfred. Its sophomore season, subtitled "Robbin' Season", ended its 11-episode run on May 10.

The cast also includes Isiah Whitlock Jr., Myra Lucretia Taylor, Harold House Moore, Brandon Hirsch, Emmett Hunter, Cranston Johnson and Griffin Freeman.

The award-winning series is executive produced by Donald, Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle, Stephen Glover and Hiro Murai. Meanwhile, FX Production produces.
