Camille Preaker goes back to her parents' house ib a small twon of Wind Gap, but his mom (Patricia Clarkson) doesn't seem too happy to see her back.

AceShowbiz - A new trailer for HBO's limited series "Sharp Objects" has been unearthed for viewing pleasure. The new footage sees Amy Adams' journalist character named Camille Preaker getting involved in a dangerous, chilling events in her hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri.

"What if after you die, part of you goes to heaven, [and] part of you stays here?" a girl says in eerie voiceover while a scene of two young girls roller-skating appears. "Just to see how things turn out."

Somewhere in the trailer, Adams' Camille is seemingly assign to investigate a string of murders involving young girls that occurred in the the small town. She goes back to her parents' house, but his mom (Patricia Clarkson) doesn't seem too happy to see her back.

It seems like something happened in the past that may be the reason behind her mom's cold response to her. "I didn't come back to cause any problems," Camille insists.

Camille's younger sister (Amma Crellin), is told to be careful around her. "Is that true? Are you dangerous?" she asks in voiceover as some thrilling scenes, including one that shows a presumably dead young girl in a dark room, flickers on the screen.

Also starring Chris Messina, Eliza Scanlen, Elizabeth Perkins and Matt Craven, "Sharp Objects" follows Preaker, who returns to her hometown after being discharged from a psychiatric hospital and given an assignment into two homicides. As she investigates, dark events from her past begin to surface and haunt her.

The new series is driven by a familiar name behind the success of Emmy-winning "Big Little Lies". Jean-Marc Vallee, who directed the first season of the Nicole Kidman-starring series, helms the entire episodes of "Sharp Objects". Vallee also serves as executive producer along with veteran showrunner Marti Noxon, Flynn, Adams, Blumhouse Productions' Jason Blum, Charles Layton and Jessica Rhoades as well as Vallee's collaborator Nathan Ross.

"Sharp Objects" is set to premiere on July 8 on HBO.
