The TV movie chronicles the political efforts that led to the campaign urging Brits to vote to leave the European Union in 2016.

AceShowbiz - Benedict Cumberbatch is to front a new TV movie about Britain's "Brexit" drama. Toby Haynes will direct "Brexit" from a script created by playwright James Graham.

The film, which will begin shooting later this year, chronicles the political efforts that led to the campaign urging Brits to vote to leave the European Union in 2016. Cumberbatch will portray Dominic Cummings, the Campaign Director of Vote Leave.

"I'm so excited, not to mention a little nervous, to have this chance to try and get under the skin of what happened during that historic vote," screenwriter Graham says. "I hope by going behind-the-scenes of the campaign, we're able to interrogate the consequences of what happened during these eight weeks that have changed the country forever."
