In addition, the Merc with the Mouth depicter, who also serves as producer and co-writer for the sequel, talks about a much-wanted Wolverine/Deadpool team-up movie.

AceShowbiz - Deadpool is known as a character who has zero filter. In the first movie, the Merc with the Mouth poked fun at all kinds of pop culture institutions. And now that Disney is merging with Fox, fans may expect that there will be one or two references about the merge in upcoming "Deadpool 2". But according to star/producer/co-writer Ryan Reynolds, there's one particular joke that didn't make the cut to the R-rated movie.
"This is a sore spot for me because there's a joke in the movie that is not in the movie now because -- I'm probably not even allowed to say this -- Fox made me take it out," he says in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"It had more to do with Disney, and they made me take it out," Ryan continues. "As I look back at it, I think maybe that was a wise decision." It remains to be seen what joke it was, but there will still be a recurring joke about Disney's "Frozen" in the sequel.
When asked about the plan for the "Deadpool" franchise following the merge, Ryan responds, "I really genuinely don't know a thing about it. I read that [chairman and CEO] Bob Iger felt that there's plenty of room in that universe to have a rated-R character like Deadpool. This is completely conjecture on my part, but I wouldn't imagine that Disney bought Fox to dismantle it or something like that. I think that Disney bought Fox so it could have that in its arsenal."
During the interview, Ryan also talks about a much-wanted Wolverine/Deadpool team-up movie. Although "Logan" ended with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) dying, it is still possible for Deadpool to have a crossover with the character since "Logan" takes place years in the future from "Deadpool 2".
"He's alive and well in my timeline," says Ryan. "There is a Logan running around out there with a little bushy chest and his little sharpy, sharpy claws, and he is alive and well and ready to go. I would love that."
The actor adds, "I think convincing Hugh of that would be a near-impossible feat, but there's no human being I love more than Hugh Jackman in that universe, and equally so as a friend. He's just the best. I already miss him as Logan, so I'm one of those guys that whenever I see him, I'm like, 'Come on, man. Just one more. Come on. We'll do it together. It'll be fun. Come on! On three. Here we go, together. One, two, three, together,' and it's always just me saying it."
Directed by David Leitch, "Deadpool 2" is set to premiere on May 18 on the United States.
