AceShowbiz - The "Murphy Brown" cast gets back together and here's the first look at it. Ahead of the show's return on CBS, star and Emmy-winning actress Candice Bergen shares the first photo of the cast reuniting on the revival set.

Featured in the photo are the original cast members including Candice herself, Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto and Grant Shaud. They pose alongside newcomer Nik Dodani and writer/executive producer Diane English. "MURPHY BROWN...together again. Coming to your neighborhood TV in the fall. Just in time…," so Candice captioned the snap.

While most of main cast members are in the photo, noticeably missing from the group shot is Jake McDorman, who plays Murphy's son Avery on the revived show.

CBS announced in January that it ordered 13-episode multi-camera revival of the classic comedy. Candice will once again play the titular character, the fan-favorite sharp-tongued journalist, as well as serve as executive producer alongside Diane. Faith will return as perky anchor Corky Sherwood, while Joe reprises his role as investigative reporter Frank Fontana. Meanwhile, Grant is back as executive producer Miles Silverberg.

The new show will "return to a world of of cable news, social media, fake news and a very different political and cultural climate." The comedy's return is definitely highly-anticipated, especially after "Roseanne", another comedy which gets reboot treatment, pulled in monster ratings with its return.

The original "Murphy Brown" ran for 10 years on CBS from 1988 to 1998. Also starring Charles Kimbrough and Robert Pastorelli, the comedy earned 62 Emmy nominations and won 18 of them. The iconic show also snagged three Golden Globes and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. Candice herself took home five Emmy trophies for her stunning portrayal of Murphy.

The upcoming "Murphy Brown" revisit is set to air during the 2018-2019 TV season.
