The 'Step Up' on-screen lovers reportedly fought a lot over his party-boy lifestyle and his flirty behavior made it hard for Jenna who's constantly left at home when he's filming his movie.

AceShowbiz - Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan seemed to be a picture perfect couple, until they shockingly announced their separation on Monday, April 2. So, what's wrong with their marriage that caused a strain in their relationship? Words are the hunky actor's flirty personality and drinking habit caused the pair to drift apart and led to their split.

"Channing is a total flirt and that was hard for Jenna to deal with. He is funny, smart and really charming on set whether he is talking to his cute costars or the production assistants, he is nice to everyone," a source tells HollywoodLife.com.

Things got harder for Jenna as she's often left at home while Channing had to film his movie. The source adds, "The charming guy on set is who Jenna first fell in love with and later it became hard on her every time he left to do a movie, which was all the time. Everyone on set loves Channing and he is often surrounded by beautiful women at work."

"His successful career made things really difficult for them to have a healthy relationship," the source continues dishing. "He was gone all the time and Jenna was often left worrying about what could have been going on at the set while she stayed home raising their daughter."

The source additionally reveals, "When Channing recently did a movie with Katie Holmes, it was hard for Jenna not to feel a bit jealous and insecure. She would wait by the phone for Channing to call, to check in after wrapping on set, and that was stressful."

"It became impossible for her to stay married to a big personality when Jenna felt like she was always competing for her husband's time while he was working with gorgeous women like Katie," the source concludes, "The strain on the relationship brought them to where they are now, split up."

RadarOnline.com adds that the now-estranged couple fought a lot over his party-boy lifestyle. The site points out several occasions in the past, during which the "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" actor got flirty with other women.

While filming "Foxcatcher" in Pittsburgh, he reportedly danced with a female co-star. "After they filmed a scene together, he began singing 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' to her and grinding up against her. Their faces were touching while they danced and he sang," an eyewitness recalled. "At first it seemed like a joke, but then Channing took it further. He twirled the girl around and kept dipping her. I was in complete shock."

Months later, at the Cannes premiere of the movie, he allegedly ignored Jenna, who was away at home and "called him over and over that night," when he hit up the film's after party at a nightclub. "Before the party, Chan had promised he’d call Jenna to tell her how the premiere went, but then he got consumed by everything and forgot," the source explained. "Jenna called him over and over that night, and he ignored the calls. He finally answered and asked if he could call her back. She was not happy."

Meanwhile, Channing was said feeling "suffocated" by Jenna's constant texting and calling. "The truth is that Chan's career has taken off since he and Jenna got together, and all the attention he gets just drives her insane," the insider said before. "When they're not together, she is constantly texting or calling him to find out where he is and who he's with. He feels suffocated. It's like she's pushing him away."
