The 'Hamilton' creator responds to a fake announcement of the song listing and cast of the supposed stage adaptation of Wiseau's 2003 cult classic.

AceShowbiz - Is Lin-Manuel Miranda planning a musical adaptation of Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" following the success of James Franco's "The Disaster Artist" about the making of the 2013 cult classic? TheaterMania released a fake announcement about the supposed musical and the awards-winning actor/composer/playwright played along with it.

The site claimed that it obtained exclusive details of the project supposedly called "Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tommy Wiseau's The Room: The Broadway Musical". It said that the cast would feature Patti LuPone in the role of Claudette, Lisa's mother, Miranda himself and Javier Munoz as Peter/Steven, a psychologist, and Mark Rylance as Johnny, "an everyman."

Miranda then responded to the joke, causing fans to wish that the project was real. He retweeted the announcement and wrote, "This is all VERY premature, we'll try it out of town in San Francisco."

Unfortunately, the 38-year-old multi-talented star later clarified that it was an April Fools' Day joke. "Okay. Happy April Fools," he tweeted to set things clear.

Those who are looking forward to a new musical from Miranda were clearly disappointed that there won't be any in the near future. "That was not funny! I ran around my house yelling Lin is making a new musical," one responded.

Another commented, "so many people are disappointed... i think the only solution is to ACTUALLY write another musical."

Though he won't return to the stage anytime soon, Miranda can next be seen in Disney's upcoming film "Mary Poppins Returns". He stars as Jack, a lamplighter, alongside Emily Blunt as the titular nanny, Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer as the now-grown-up Jane and Michael Banks.

Directed by Rob Marshall, the musical fantasy film is set 25 years after the 1964 film. It is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on Christmas Day, December 25, this year.
