AceShowbiz - The first look at Renee Zellweger as Judy Garland in upcoming biopic "Judy" has been released to mark the start of principal photography. The production kicked off Monday, March 19 in London, so it's announced on the movie's official Twitter account.
In the picture, the 48-year-old actress looks unrecognizable as the late singing and movie legend. The "Bridget Jones's Baby" star undergoes a drastic makeover to channel Garland with short, black hair. Wearing an off-shoulder flower-patterned dress, she is singing into a microphone.

According to Variety, "Judy", directed by British stage director Rupert Goold with the script penned by Tom Edge ("The Crown"), is set in the late 1960s as Garland arrives in the British capital for a run of sell-out concerts at the Talk of the Town nightclub, not long before her untimely death.
The movie also delves into Garland's behind-the-scenes battles with management, her relationships with musicians and fans, and the unfolding family drama that provided the backdrop to the London performances.
Garland died of an accidental overdose of barbiturates in London in 1969. She was 47 years old. She is best known for her roles in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), "A Star Is Born" (1954) and "Judgment at Nuremberg" (1961).
Zellweger is set to sing some of her best-known numbers, including "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz". Zellweger has shown that she can sing and dance, having starred in 2002's film adaptation of stage musical "Chicago" which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress and won her a Golden Globe Award.
