AceShowbiz - Gigi Hadid is back on the market after she called it quits with her boyfriend of two years, Zayn Malik. The 22-year-old model and her singer ex-boyfriend took to Twitter on Tuesday, March 13 to announce that they've split.
"Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years... not only in a relationship but in life in general," Gigi wrote. "I'm forever grateful for the love, time and life lesson that Z and I shared, I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever's meant to be will always be."

On the other hand, Zayn wrote that he and Gigi "had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship." He added, "I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. She has such an incredible soul. I'm grateful to all our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time. We wish this news would have come from us first. We love you all."

Following the split announcement, it appears that Zayn no longer follows both his model ex-girlfriend and her mom Yolanda Hadid on Instagram. However, Gigi and her mom are still following him on the social media site.
While many fans of the couple are heartbroken and sad over their split, some others express concern over Zayn's eyes tattoo, which is believed to be Gigi's eyes. One fan tweets, "Zayn can unfollow Gigi but he can't unfollow the tattoo."

Gigi and Zayn first sparked romance rumors in November 2015, after they were spotted leaving an American Music Awards after-party together. The two eventually confirmed the rumors when they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2016 Met Gala. They took a brief break shortly after the gala but rekindled their romance that summer.
