The sophomore season of the fan-favorite Marvel superhero series is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on Friday, June 22.

AceShowbiz - Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated second season of "Luke Cage". The fiery video features Mike Colter's character showcasing his incredible power which soon fans will see this upcoming June.

"Yo! I'm Luke Cage," Luke opens the almost-thirty-second teaser trailer. "You can't burn me," the Power Man declares as a scene of him coming out of a massive fire alive flickers on the screen. "You can't blast me. And you definitely can't break me."

The New York street-level hero later can be seen telling someone offscreen, "You want to test me? Step up! I'm right here."

The sophomore season of "Luke Cage" will see the titular hero becoming "a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin" after clearing his name. "But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can't save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain."

Colter also said the sophomore season would explore Luke's public identity. "It's something that we'll explore in the 'Defenders' and hopefully in season 2 of 'Cage' which I start very soon," he said, adding, "It's very different. He's out. People know what he looks like. He's not in any kind of disguise."

The new season will also reunite Luke and fellow Marvel's The Defenders, Danny Rand a.k.a. Marvel's Iron Fist. Fans assume that the reunion between the pair will have something to do with Misty Knight (Simone Missick). Another possibility is that a new threat is coming, leading them to join forces once again.

In the upcoming 13-part new season, Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Claire Temple, while Lucy Liu reportedly lands an undisclosed role.

"Luke Cage" season 2 will arrive on Friday, June 22 on Netflix.
