The 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' host surprises the repeated Oscar host with a room of the Hart Institute floor named in honor of Jimmy's son Billy, who was born with a rare heart disease.

AceShowbiz - Ellen DeGeneres knows how to make her guest cry. After making Tiffany Haddish burst into tears when the host introduced her to her idol Oprah Winfrey, the daytime talk show host moved her good friend Jimmy Kimmel to tears with a touching surprise in recent episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".

Ellen first praised the repeated Oscar host for using his voice for good in his tearjerking monologue on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", especially when he talks about his child's, Billy, health and health-care reform. "You're saying a lot of important things," Ellen said in the Tuesday, February 27 episode. Jimmy responded, "I do want to say thank you to you. Because you were very kind when my son went through a couple of heart surgeries, to raise a huge amount of money. You and your viewers raised a million dollars. It meant a lot to us. Thank you."

However, that's not the only thing the "Finding Dory" star has for Jimmy. "Well, we have a surprise for you," Ellen told Jimmy before assuring him that it was "a good surprise." She continued, "We called out friends at Children's Hospital L.A., including Billy's surgeon, and we have named one of the rooms of the Hart Institute floor in honor of Billy," prompting Jimmy to exclaim, "Wow!"

Footage taken at the hospital was later shown, featuring the said room which was named "In Honor of Billy Kimmel" as the Emmy-winning host said, "That will forever be the Billy Kimmel room." Ellen also revealed that several of Billy's nurses were at the studio. Jimmy jokingly told them, "You should be at work!"

As previously reported, Billy was born with a rare congenital heart defect which required him to undergo a surgery three days after he was born on April 21, 2017. Jimmy and wife Molly McNearney also share 3-year-old daughter Jane, while Jimmy has two older children, Kevin and Katie, from a previous relationship.
