According to a new report, 'Jen and Brad have remained close since their 2005 split, but she has leaned on him more over the past 15 months.'

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Aniston apparently reached out to her ex-husband Brad Pitt during the rocky times in her marriage to Justin Theroux. A report suggested that the "Friends" alum found comfort in the "Allied" actor before she and Justin made their big announcement earlier this month.

"They have each other's numbers and communicate from time to time. Jen and Brad have remained friendly," Entertainment Tonight presenter Nancy O'Dell told Mirror. "Jen and Brad have remained close since their 2005 split, but she has leaned on him more over the past 15 months."

The two, who were married from 2000 to 2005, were "absolutely not together," at the moment though, Nancy insisted. But she later added, "You cannot predict the future." Jennifer's publicist, however, denied the report, dubbing it "another fabrication."

As for Brad, he reportedly tried his best to keep out of any drama surrounding her ex-wife and Justin. "He'd love to be far removed from it, but he knows he will be in the center of the tornado. He will do his best to avoid it and not address it. But he also knows that will be impossible. He just wants to get back to a normal life," said another source of Angelina Jolie's ex.

Jennifer and Justin announced their separation through a statement which read, "In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship."

Through the statement, the estranged couple also asked not to believe any "fictional narrative" regarding their relationship which has been spreading on internet. "Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly," they said. "Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else's fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another."
