AceShowbiz - Being a celebrity has its own disadvantages despite the fame and money. Lana Del Rey has experienced that after a man tried to kidnap her prior to her concert at Orlando's Amway Center. Fortunately for the songstress, the obsessed fan was arrested by the police.
Michael Hunt, a 43-year-old man from Riverview, Florida, was arrested a block from the concert's venue on charges of aggravated stalking and attempted kidnapping after Hunt shared on social media threatening posts and videos involving Del Rey. According to Orlando Police Department, Hunt was in possession of tickets to the concert and a knife at the time of his arrest. He didn't come into contact with Del Rey.
Orlando Sentinel said that Hunt frequently professed his love for the singer on Facebook. The outlet stated that on January 30, he wrote, "I want to see my queen on Friday and from that day forward our decision will be as one." The newspaper also said that he posted on the social networking service a video in which Hunt talked about his plans.
"I'm going to probably finish her tour with her, obviously, and dance and talk and figure out what we're going to do. I'm letting my feet rest before I take off with Lana," he said in the video, insisting that he was not on drugs. "Lana knows I'm here. The queen of England knows I'm here. Vladimir knows I'm here. They all know I'm here."
Despite the unsettling and scary news, Del Rey still took to the stage and performed her concert as scheduled. She even assured her fans that she's doing fine, so they should not be worried for her. "Hey kiddos," she tweeted on Sunday, February 4. "I'm doing fine thanks for the messages. And tomorrow we'll be in Hotlanta can't wait to see everyone. Yachty that means u."
