Scott Baio Denies Molestation Allegations From 'Charles in Charge' Co-Star Nicole Eggert

In his statement, the 'Bugsy Malone' actor claims that their 'one and only sexual contact' happened 'after she turned 18,' adding that Eggert is 'deliberately lying.'

AceShowbiz - Scott Baio is hit with molestation allegations. The actor's "Charles in Charge" co-star Nicole Eggert accused the "Bugsy Malone" star of molesting her repeatedly when she was 14 until she was 17.

"Ask @scottbaio what happened in his garage at his house when I was a minor. Creep," Eggert tweeted on Saturday, January 27. In now-deleted separate tweets, the actress implied that Baio fingered her when she was just 14, saying, "It started when I was 14. Wasn't a one time deal." The tweets quickly garnered a lot of people's attention.

Following the tweet, Baio took to Facebook Live, which now has been deleted, and Twitter to release a statement regarding the issue. "She [Eggert] is provably wrong," Baio said, adding, "and because we have been telling her that since last year without result, our only conclusion is that she is deliberately lying."

Baio insisted that their "one and only sexual contact" happened "after she turned 18."

"When Nicole started tweeting about this again late last year, shortly after the major stories broke about sexual harassment in entertainment, my attorneys sent her and Alex Polinsky a letter advising and requesting that they take their allegations to law enforcement for a full investigation," Baio further shared. However, "they refused to do so."

"Only after Nicole Eggert was proven to be dishonest in her 'sex at 17' allegations did she create a new story about sexual contact at an even younger age. For the record, they are false too," his statement continued. Baio asserted that Eggert was only making these claims to capitalize on the #MeToo movement that disrupted Hollywood late last year and spurred the Time's Up initiative, which aims to combat abuse of power in the workplace.

"Charles in Charge" ran for five seasons on CBS. Baio starred as the titular character, while Eggert played Jamie Powell.
