The Arya Stark on the hit HBO medieval series shares in a new interview that the eighth and final season of 'Game of Thrones' will premiere in April.

AceShowbiz - Thanks to Maisie Williams, fans now get more details about when "Game of Thrones" will return for its eighth and final season. The Arya Stark depicter reveals in a new interview which month in 2019 the hit HBO series is supposed to premiere the highly-anticipated season.

"We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019]," Williams tells Metro. "That's a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes."

She continues, "There's a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities."

However, fans note that Wiliams saying the filming is expected to be wrapped in December runs contrary to what fans have been hearing. It was previously reported that season 8 production is scheduled to wrap at the end of summer, around end of July or early August. In addition, Peter Dinklage recently said that they had finished shooting around halfway.

Back to the interview, the 20-year-old British actress weighs in on her character's last journey on the series. "I've always said I wanted her to find peace. The things that have been driving her through her story have been very bitter and twisted and aggressive," she says.

Williams goes on saying that she hopes Arya will find her true self again. She shares, "I would love for Arya to find her true self again and let go of this anger and revenge that’s accompanied her on this journey. I'd love for her to be happy." When asked about her feeling about this final season of "Game of Thrones", Williams replies, "It's going to be really odd not seeing the cast regularly. We all get on so well and we are such a tight-knit group."
