AceShowbiz - Charlie Puth is kicking off the new year by releasing a heartbreak ballad. The New Jersey-born singer unveiled on Thursday, January 4 an a cappella track titled "If You Leave Me Now" featuring soulful superstar Boyz II Men.

The four-minute song finds them singing about the struggle of letting go of a relationship. Boyz II Men lends their honeyed harmonies to the song. " 'Cause girl, if you leave me now/ If you give it up and just walk right out/ You will take the biggest part of me," they sing. "And all the things that I believe/ Baby, if you leave me now."

The ballad receives positive responses from fans, obviously. "I don't even know what to say except that this song is just BEAUTIFUL," a fan writes in the comment section. Another even calls Charlie the male version of Mariah Carey, saying, "Gracing us with his falsetto voice, strong voice, a duet with Boyz II Men! Literally amazing."

"If You Love Me Now" is the third track off Charlie's sophomore album "Voicenotes", following last year's bangers "Attention" and "How Long". The effort is supposed to be released on January 19, but Charlie takes to Twitter to announce that he has to push back the release date.

"The bad news is that I have to push the album release date," he tells his 2 million followers. "I'm producing this album all myself and with that comes a lot of work, and in my opinion, the album is not perfect yet. However, it will still come out this year, and soon."

Despite the unfortunate news, it appears that the delay of the album's release doesn't affect his upcoming tour in support of the album. The 26-year-old heartthrob will kick off his tour on July 11 in Toronto and wrap it up on September 1 in Florida. He will be joined by Hailee Steinfeld.
