The 'Cranes in the Sky' songstress is presented with the award as she is able to empower people, especially women, through her debut album 'A Seat at the Table'.

AceShowbiz - Billboard has announced another winner at the 2017 Billboard Women in Music, which will be held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on November 30. Following Camila Cabello, Kelly Clarkson and Kehlani, it has been confirmed that Solange Knowles will be honored with the American Express Impact Award at the annual gala.

The said award is typically presented to a woman who "uses her voice to empower and develop new leaders of tomorrow through their on-air persona, platform and philanthropic efforts to inspire social change across the masses." And according to the outlet, Solange easily fits the category thanks to her debut album "A Seat at the Table", which empowered fans and educated others.

Solange released the album on November 30, 2016, and since then, it has influenced generations to own and appreciate their identities. "I just feel so much joy and gratitude that people have connected to it in this way," Solange remarked. "The biggest reward that I could ever get is seeing women, especially black women, talk about what this album has done, the solace it has given them."

"A Seat at the Table" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart, Apple Music and iTunes Overall Top Albums chart. The success of the records eventually led Solange to perform several tracks off it in front of former president Barack Obama. In addition, she managed to sell out all the tickets for her performances at Radio City Music Hall, Orpheum Theater and more.

Back to Billboard Women in Music, it has also been announced that Ciara will return as the host, while actress/singer Taraji P. Henson and Diplo are included in the list of presenters at this year's event. Fans can live-stream the red carpet pre-show as well as the event via Twitter from 21:00 P.M. to 00:00 A.M. ET.
