New set photos of the 'Split' sequel offer first look at Willis reprising his 'Unbreakable' role.

AceShowbiz - Looking at the success of director M. Night Shyamalan's previous films, "Unbreakable" and "Split", fans are really looking forward to 2019's "Glass". After set photos that revealed Samuel L. Jackson as Mr. Glass in a wheelchair wearing purple trench coat as well as James McAvoy being shirtless on the set of the upcoming film, now fans get the first look at Bruce Willis in the movie.

Willis is spotted on the set wearing a green shirt and a gray undershirt. The actor is seen to have grown his graying beard and his head is not shaved clean. Another set photo shows Anya Taylor-Joy who reprises the role of Casey.

Willis will reprise his role as David Dunn, who is the main protagonist of "Unbreakable". In the film, Dunn realizes that he has a superpower and the film revolves around the discovery of his powers. Previously, Dunn made a brief but revealing appearance in "Split", much to fans' surprise and delight, because his cameo revealed that "Unbreakable", "Split" and the upcoming "Glass" are within the same narrative universe.

Shyamalan stated that when he was doing "Unbreakable", he initially wanted to include McAvoy's character, Kevin Wendell Crumb a.k.a. The Horde. However, he pulled the character out as a solution to unbalanced story issues at that time. He also had the idea to craft "Split" long before the production, but he kept it with him for a while. "I sat there for a long time, and I really don't have a clear reason why I didn't pull the trigger earlier. But this felt like the perfect time to do it, with the type of movies I'm doing now, and the type of tones I am interested in-humor and suspense," said the director. It was after "Unbreakable" that Shyamalan had the chance to focus on his then-unused character and story.

It is still unknown whether The Horde will team up with Mr. Glass to form a villainous duo, or Mr. Glass will help Dunn take down The Horde. One thing for sure, the duo with superhuman powers will meet in the film, as seen from a leaked set video.

"Glass" is set to hit U.S. theaters on January 18, 2019.
