AceShowbiz - Finally, we get the first-look teaser of Hulu's upcoming series "Castle Rock". Produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television and set in Stephen King's Castle Rock, the series promises a haunting yet gorgeous vibe through the poignant teaser.
Arriving on Sunday, October 8 during New York Comic-Con, the teaser previewed the world of Castle Rock, a part of fictional Maine topography which provides the setting for many King stories. Although it didn't reveal much about the plot, the teaser offered some insights into what fans could expect from the forthcoming Hulu series.
The teaser opened with a scene of Andre Holland's attorney Henry Deaver looking around the city of Maine. Melanie Lynskey's real estate agent Molly Strand, meanwhile, was seen sitting in a car wearing dark glasses after a scene of someone holding a missing child pamphlet flickered on the screen.
Bill Skarsgard, who starred in summer blockbuster "It", also made an appearance in the teaser as he was seen imprisoned. "Carrie" actress Sissy Spacek, who plays Ruth Deaver, was featured holding a black umbrella before looking angry while holding a knife in another scene. The haunting video ended with someone saying in voiceover, "You have no idea what's happening here, do you?" It was followed by a scene of a car with a "Shawshank Department of Corrections" sticker on the back bumper sliding underwater.
Lynskey was joined by executive producers/writers Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason, as well as co-stars Holland, Spacek and Skarsgard during the show's panel at the NYCC. She spoke of her character, "I don't know how many murder houses she's sold."
Skarsgard, meanwhile, admitted that he was sort of "hesitant" before taking the shared-universe project. "I had just done Pennywise. I was terrified of how people would think about it, if they would hate it and if I'd let people down," he said, adding that he's now "happy" for deciding to join the show.
No premiere date has been set, but "Castle Rock" is scheduled to arrive sometime in 2018 on Hulu.
