AceShowbiz - "The Simpsons" opts for a medieval premiere for its season 29. The fan-favorite animated series spoofs HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" and takes inspiration from the world of Westeros in the magical season premiere, which is titled "The Serfsons".
In the first half-hour, Marge's mother is turned into an Ice Walker and the only way for Homer to afford the cure is to force Lisa to use illegal magic. But Lisa is later kidnapped under King's order, prompting Hormer to lead a feudal uprising to save her.

That's not the only "GoT" references you'll find in the episode though, with Homer and Marge being seen building a wooden ladder which has a face on it. Any "GoT" fans can tell that it is a nod to Weirdwood, a species of deciduous tree found all over Westeros which has white bark with five-pointed, blood-red leaves and sap.
A talking tree? Preposterous.🌳 #TheSimpsons pic.twitter.com/j3KFJ3q6Q5

Another scene sees Marge and Homer standing outside a castle. They are staring at a slew of heads on stakes, one of which is the head of their friendly neighbor Ned Flanders. Do you find the name familiar? You should, since it shares the first name of Ned Stark, the patriarch of House Stark who was beheaded in the first season of the HBO series.
Well hi-diddly-ho, neighborino! 💀 #TheSimpsons pic.twitter.com/UTgm7dzhCW

"The Simpsons" also pays homage to two of main characters of "GoT", incest twins Cersei and Jaime Lannister, with an appearance of Marger's twin brother. On top of that, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the Jaime depicter on "GoT", lends his voice to the character. He also poses with the character he plays on the animated series.

In addition, the season premiere features a Three-Eyed Raven, which adds flavor to the family's water soup. There is also a blond, who looks nothing like Daenerys Targaryen, riding a fire-breathing dragon.
