While 'Mariah's World' is canceled, the 'Touch My Body' hitmaker is allegedly working on a new VH1 reality show centering on the 20th anniversary of 'Butterfly'.

AceShowbiz - E! has opted not to move forward with a second eason of Mariah Carey's docuseries "Mariah's World". The network has canceled the show after one season, noting that it was the plan all along.
"E!'s 'Mariah's World' was an eight-part event that chronicled her 2016 world tour," said E! spokersperson in a statement. "It was exciting to bring our viewers inside the private world of one of today's most iconic stars as she returned to the stage last year."
The series followed the global pop singer as she launched her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour of the U.K., Europe and Africa. It also chronicled her plan of her wedding to Australian business mogul James Packer, but the engagement to Packer was called off two months prior to the show's debut.
Premiered in December 2016, "Mariah's World" kicked off strong with a whooping 2.2 million viewers in its first episode. However, it keeps losing viewers with each episode passing, and only managed to pull in 510,000 to 810,000 viewers in the later episodes.
On the brighter note, another report suggests that Mariah is working on a new reality show on VH1. The new show is set to center on the 20th anniversary of her 1997 album, "Butterfly". VH1 will be there to film all of the behind-the-scene preparations of her upcoming tour which is her way to celebrate the LP's two-decade release.
" 'Mariah's World' was always planned to be an eight-part TV event. But now she is planning a huge world tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of 'Butterfly' to start early 2018. It will be similar to U2's 'Joshua Tree' tour. VH1 is set to film a docuseries that will capture the behind-the-scenes of her tour," said a Mariah insider.
In the meantime, the Grammy-winning singer will be honored at VH1's Hip Hop Honors: The '90s Game Changers event in California for a number of her collaborations with massive hip-hop artists. It will air on Tuesday, September 18 at 9 P.M. on VH1.
