AceShowbiz - Fresh off the debut of his album "Luv Is Rage 2" at No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart, Lil Uzi Vert celebrates the success by releasing a music video for his chart-topping single off the effort, "XO Tour Llif3". Directed by Virgil Abloh, the clip features a trippy look into the life of the Philly rapper and his friends.
Rocking a shimmering vest and creepy contacts, Uzi Vert is seen strutting down the dark streets in the grim visuals. Arabic letters appear on the bottom of the screen as he spits, "I don't really care if you cry/ On the real, you shoulda never lied/ Shoulda saw the way she looked me in the yes/ She said: 'Baby, I am not afraid to die'/ Push me to the edge/ All my friends are dead."
The horror flick-style video also features some gruesome images, including dead bodies, zombies and bloody faces. As the song is a homage to The Weeknd's record label XO, the "Starboy" hitmaker and his labelmate Nav make random appearances in the clip.
The official music video arrives a few months after the animated clip for the song garnered over 288 million views on YouTube. "XO Tour Llif3" previously landed at No. 7 on Billboard Hot 100, marking Uzi Vert's highest-charting solo single. Last year, the spitter topped the chart as a featured artist on Migos' "Bad and Boujee".
Uzi Vert kicked his career into high gear with his latest album "Luv Is Rage 2". It debuted atop Billboard 200 with 135,000 equivalent album units, greatly fueled by its streaming activity. The effort has the third-largest streaming debut this year, following Drake's "More Life" and Kendrick Lamar's "DAMN."
He recently revealed that he's planning to follow up "Luv Is Rage 2" with a full-blown rock-infused album. "I don't write. It's kinda hard for it to be bad," he said, citing Paramore's Hayley Williams as a potential influence on his rock material. "I don't even be looking at my songs like they're good or bad. Remember, they're my children. So when I put 'em out, someone accepts them."
