The ABC execs are 'really upset with' the former NFL player as he did not cut his vacation short to get back work.

AceShowbiz - Michael Strahan angers ABC execs as he did not cut his vacation short to return and cover the Hurricane Harvey disaster on "Good Morning America". The former NFL player reportedly refused to get back to work soon.
"ABC News asked Strahan to come home from his vacation. He's from Houston. But he refused and is still floating around on a yacht in Greece somewhere. ABC is really upset with him," a source told Page Six. A second source added that ABC staffers "just cannot believe he didn't come back."
The report, however, is debunked by Michael Corn, senior executive producer of "GMA". "I spoke with [Strahan] every day," he explains, "Michael was very clear he wanted to be part of the coverage, and we decided the best plan was for him to lead the charge covering the recovery."
Michael's rep says, "They did not ask him to come back. He's been in direct contact with his family - and thankfully they are doing fine. He is headed [to Houston] next week and will help in any way that he can."
Michael was on the second week of his yacht vacation, according to sources, having recently gone on a safari. His vacation ends on Monday, September 4 and he will reportedly be in Houston next week for ABC and "GMA" beginning on Tuesday.
Rumor has it, Michael will host an upcoming telethon for Harvey victims along with Jamie Foxx, Reese Witherspoon and Blake Shelton.
"GMA" veteran Robin Roberts returned from her end-of-summer getaway to cover the Harvey tragedy. Sources revealed that Robin was not asked to return, but she did so voluntarily. At other networks, Anderson Cooper was reportedly scheduled to be off all week at CNN, but anchored his show from Houston on Wednesday.
