Angelina Jolie Dishes on Brad Pitt Divorce and Bell's Palsy Diagnosis in New Honest Interview
Celebrity

The 'Salt' actress has opened up about her messy split from the actor and revealed that she was diagnosed with the facial nerve damage, in addition to her high blood pressure.

AceShowbiz - It has been months since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, but the wounds are still fresh for her and her six children. The Oscar-winning actress recently broke her silence on the highly-publicized split, claiming that she and the kids aren't still fully healed following the "difficult" situation.

In a Vanity Fair cover story, Angelina revealed, "It's just been the hardest time, and we're just kind of coming up for air. We're all trying to do our best to heal our family." She added, "Things got bad. I didn't want to use that word... Things became 'difficult.' "

Angelina also denied rumors that the split happened because of her and Brad's hectic lifestyle. "[Our lifestyle] was not in any way a negative. That was not the problem," she said. "That is and will remain one of the wonderful opportunities we are able to give our children... They're six very strong-minded, thoughtful, worldly individuals. I'm very proud of them."

However, the actress was still being cryptic and tight-lipped when talking about the messy divorce. "We're all just healing from the events that led to the filing.... They're not healing from divorce. They're healing from some... from life, from things in life." While she didn't reveal the "event" that caused the split, Angelina shared that she and Brad are on good terms now. "We care for each other and care about our family, and we are both working towards the same goal," said the "Maleficent" actress.

During the honest interview, Angelina also shared that she developed hypertension and Bell's Palsy, which is a nerve damage that causes one side of her face to droop. "Sometimes women in families put themselves last until it manifests itself in their own health," she said, before revealing that she had been dealing with more grey hair and drier skin. "I can't tell if it's menopause or if it's just been the year I've had," she added.

"I actually feel more of a woman because I feel like I'm being smart about my choices, and I'm putting my family first, and I'm in charge of my life and my health," the 42-year-old actress continued. "I think that's what makes a woman complete."
