'Bachelorette' Recap: Fantasy Suite Dates Cast More Doubt on Rachel's Future With a Frontrunner
TV

After relatively drama-less meetings with her family, Rachel Lindsay has overnight dates with two of the final three guys which leave her in tears.

AceShowbiz - As it's getting closer to making the final decision, Rachel Lindsay introduced the remaining three guys to her family in her hometown of Dallas in the latest episode of "The Bachelorette". First up was Peter, who made sure Rachel knew his feelings for her before he met her family.

"You mean the world to me," he told her. "I want you to have so much confidence going into this in us and in me, and know that you're introducing a good person who is here for you. And I am falling in love with you."

While Rachel has got this assurance, Peter made it clear to her mother Kathy that he's not ready to propose at the end of this. Rachel's mom said, "I would hope the dating is as serious as marriage," but she appreciated his sincerity. Peter left a glowing impression on her family as Rachel's three-year-old nephew dubbed him a "winner."

Up next was Eric, who was nervous because the last time he met a girl's family was seven years ago. Rachel's sister Constance was concerned because Eric had never been in love before, but he managed to convince her that he's serious about his relationship with Rachel.

When he asked for Kathy's blessing to propose, she gave it to him if it's what her daughter wants. "Today was good," Kathy said of their meeting with Eric. "I was pleasantly surprised again at Rachel's choice. I like the fact that Eric appears very honest, and has a desire to get married and raise a family. I can understand why this is going to be a tough decision for her."

Bryan was confident about meeting Rachel's family, but things didn't go that smooth. First, Rachel introduced Bryan to her friends. She admitted that she thought Bryan was a "douchebag" at first. Later during a meeting with her family, Rachel's mom brought up his mother Olga, whom Bryan is incredibly close with.

Kathy asked him where his loyalty would be if it ever came down to Olga and Rachel. He said it would be with Rachel, but he wouldn't want them to have a strained relationship. Kathy was unconvinced and Rachel's family seemed to doubt insincerity. Rachel's family continued to grill him at the dinner table. When he asked to be excused, Rachel said she's "low-key annoyed" over their treatment of Bryan.

Kathy doubted how fast love could grow between the two of them. Her sister Constance echoed the sentiment, saying to the camera, "My gut is telling me Bryan is a charmer. He's direct and he's open, but I don't think there's the sincerity factor in it. My guard was up."

But when Bryan asked Kathy for her blessing, she gave it to him. "Because I trust her judgment, you have my blessing to take this initial love," she said. "And just build on that."

After introducing the guys to her family, it was time for the Fantasy Suite dates in Rioja, Spain. Eric landed the first overnight date. After a helicopter ride, he expressed his feelings for her, "I'm in love with you and I tried to run, week three, week four, and it's like, nah, E, that's not happening no more. This is it. and I'm here. I'm here for you. ... Rachel Lindsay, I love you." She didn't say it back, but offered him the key to the Fantasy Suite and he accepted.

Next was Peter's turn. After touring a local vineyard, they addressed the real issue, which was the fact that Peter's not ready to propose. "I didn't come this far and put my life on hold and sacrifice everything I had to do this to just have a boyfriend at the end of it - that's not what I want," Rachel said. But Peter stood on his opinion, saying, "Unfortunately, my opinions are different: I believe an engagement is marriage."

Rachel realized that they were on the opposite ends, and neither of them would bend. "This is devastating. It's absolutely devastating," she tearfully said to the camera. "Tonight, for the first time ever, I am thinking Peter and I may not work out."

The episode ended on a cliffhanger. "The Bachelorette: Men Tell All" special will air next Monday, July 31, while the finale will air August 7.
