The English singer/songwriter has opened up about his alleged animosity with his former bandmate, saying, 'We really care about each other.'

AceShowbiz - Louis Tomlinson's mother, Johannah Deakin, passed away from leukemia last year, but before she died, she had one final wish. The 25-year-old singer has revealed that her mother's dying wish was for him to mend fences with his former bandmate Zayn Malik.

"My mum said, 'You've got to get back in contact with Zayn. Life's too f**king short,' " he tells The Sun. "A mother's intuition is just f**king crazy. It always felt supernatural to me. My mum always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted."

After Zayn left One Direction in 2015, things didn't look good between the "Pillowtalk" hitmaker and the British group. However, Louis, who "can't stand to hold a grudge with anyone," later decided to meet Zayn to talk about their animosity. "If there is any animosity, just clear the air. I met up with him and it was nice," the father of one adds.

Back when they were still bandmates, Louis was really close to Zayn "because he was my go-to if I wanted to piss around, lark around. I could always break the rules a little bit with Zayn." He continues, "So after the whole thing, it was that brotherly love. We will always have that love for each other. I can't speak on behalf of him but we really care about each other."

Louis is currently working hard on his solo music. He recently released a song with Bebe Rexha titled "Back to You". While fans are expecting One Direction reunion, that is not likely to happen in the near future. Louis, Niall Horan and Liam Payne are still enjoying their solo careers. Especially Harry Styles, who just released a solo album and made his acting debut in "Dunkirk".

"Honestly, I just think it's too difficult to say [when the band will reunite], especially with someone like Harry, who's got so much potential," Louis tells The Sun. "It's just kind of a confusing place for him to be as an individual, to be like, 'OK, what is next?' "
