While taking over Ballroom 20 on Friday, July 21 for SDCC panel, EPs Matt Nix and Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed that there wouldn't be crossovers with both 'X-Men' and 'Legion'.

AceShowbiz - "The Gifted" released an all-new extended trailer during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 21 at Ballroom 20. The three-and-a-half-minute long trailer sees two families joining forces as they are fighting against Sentinel Services, a mutant testing center run by the government.

It is revealed in the trailer that Lauren Strucker (%Natalie Alyn Lind%) has been keeping her mutant abilities secret for fear that Reed (Stephen Moyer), her father who works for the Sentinels, will hunt and capture her. However, her brother Andy (Percy Hynes White) gives the game away after he causes an incident at their school.

Her father chooses his family over his work and asks for help from four hiding mutants, Thunderbird (Blair Redford), Blink (Jamie Chung), Polaris (Emma Dumont) and Eclipse (Sean Teale). The trailer emphasizes that the mutant hunt is going strong. A wanted poster for Blink can be seen posted all over the city, while another scene offers a glimpse of Polaris being captured in a big tube.

Six mutants and two humans later engage in an action-packed war against the government. Each mutant can be seen unleashing their powers, with Thunderbird using his power to foresee cops' arrival to their hide-out. Polaris showcases her magnetic mutant abilities by stopping bullets and destroying police cars. Andy can also be seen demolishing spider-like machines with his newfound mutant ability. "This is a burden, yes. But it's also a gift," Andy and Lauren's mother Caitlin (Amy Acker) says of their powers at the end of the trailer.

During the panel, stars Moyer and Acker and the show's creative team Matt Nix, Lauren Shuler Donner, Jeph Loeb and Derek Hoffman addressed everyone's burning question about the show's connection with "X-Men". "One of the great favors that 'Days of Future Past' did for all of us is establish there are many streams, so one answer is we exist in one of those streams," EP Nix said.

"The idea is that this is definitely its own universe. We're not in the same exact timeline as any particular movie or comic, but that said we do share some characters with the movies and comics. The idea is we're doing our own thing. As they say, there are many streams," he continued.

Nix confirmed that an "X-Men" crossover was beyond the realm of possibility. "Right now, one of the things that comes out in the show is the X-Men are gone," he explained, before adding, "Why are the X-Men gone? That is a thing in the show." EP Donner further said that there wouldn't be a crossover with fellow Marvel drama "Legion". "I'm sorry to break your heart, no," she confirmed.

Nix went on joking, "It's not just that they're too expensive for television, although that may be related. But there's a unity of business and creativity and it comes together as the X-Men are gone, where did they go? To the other movies!"
