Two scenes and a new trailer were screened at San Diego Comic-Con on Wednesday night, July 19, giving fans a better look at how Pennywise the Clown haunts down his victims.

AceShowbiz - Three reels of footage from "It", the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King's horror novel, were screened at San Diego Comic-Con on Wednesday night, July 19. "It's a great moment to be alive. Because 'It' is coming back, after all this time," director Andy Muschietti said before showing the footage.

The helmer showed two scenes from the movie and a new trailer at the packed Gaslamp District theater, according to EW. Appearing in a video message to tease his fans, King said, " 'It' remains one of my most personal works so I'm delighted it's finally making it to the big screen," before adding, "Enjoy this exclusive look... if you can."

The first footage opens on a summer afternoon with five boys standing on a cliff. They're the members of The Losers' Club which include Bill Denbrough (Jaeden Lieberher), whose little brother Georgie was snatched by Pennywise the Clown the autumn before, Richie "Trashmouth" Tozier (Finn Wolfhard), Eddie Kaspbrak (Jack Dylan Grazer), Stan Uris (Wyatt Oleff), and Ben Hanscom (Jeremy Ray Taylor).

The scene pays particular attention to an "H"-shaped scar which has been branded onto Ben's stomach, which is presumably the work of the psychopatic local bully Henry Bowers (Nicholas Hamilton). As the boys prepare to jump into the water, Sophia Lillis' tomboy Bev Marsh arrives as the sixth member of the Losers' Club, saying, "I'll go."

The kids jump into the water and try to forget their troubles. When drying off on the rocks, Ben pulls out a history project that he has been putting together and looks at the shady history of the town. One of the kids asks why it is all murder and missing kids, to which Ben replies, "Derry's not like any town I've ever been in before. They did a study once, and it turns out people die or disappear here at six times the national average."

"You read that?" Bev asks. "That's just grown-ups. Kids are worse. Way worse," Ben says, "I've got more stuff if you want to see it..." Stan responds by shaking his head.

The second scene features all of the seven members of the downtrodden group of kids. This time, we put our focus on Mike Hanlon (Chosen Jacobs), who is the only black people in the town of Derry. He has to deal with more bullying than most of the Losers' Club members particularly at the hands of Henry.

As Henry and his two cronies pin Mike's face against the rocks, there's a chilling glimpse of the nightmare-inducing Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard). When Mike is desperately looking for help, Pennywise waves a hand at Mike, but it's not the clown's hand. Instead, it's a child's arm that has been ripped off at the elbow. Based on the fresh blood smeared around his haunting smile, Pennywise has been nibbling at the elbow.

Pennywise seems to be drawn by the evil from the bullies. But when Henry prepares to hit Mike's skull with a rock, he is hit by a stone himself, while the other six Losers can be seen standing on the banks of the water. The bullies are later defeated and the newly-united Losers walk down the train tracks. The scene ends with a stuttering Bill saying to Mike, "I guess that's one th-th-th-thing we all have in common. Welcome to the Losers' Club."

The audience was then treated to an extended preview of the upcoming movie with a boy narrating, "When you're a kid, you think the universe revolves around you. That you'll always be protected and cared for. Then, one day, you realize that's not true."

It features the movie's typical imagery of red balloons flying as well as the iconic shot of Georgie being lured by the evil clown into the drain. It then sees a ghostly apparition pretending to be Georgie lurking in the basement of the Denbrough house, taking in Georgie's voice and cheerfully saying, "If you come with me, you'll float, too."

The trailer also features Richie in a shadowy room full of clown dolls, which turn their faces towards the boy, with a particularly scary doll standing among them turning out to be Pennywise. The clown lifts his head and bares a set of razor-sharp teeth at the end of the trailer.

"It" is split into two movies, with the first movie being set to be released in the U.S. on September 8. Meanwhile, the second movie is yet to have a release date.
