The upcoming seventh season of the FX series will be called 'Cult' and the teaser features a legion of clowns.

AceShowbiz - As promised, the official title of "American Horror Story" season 7 was revealed on Thursday, July 20. FX took advantage of the San Diego Comic-Con to announce that the upcoming installment of the horror anthology series would be called "Cult".

Clues were dropped at Comic-Con with an interactive "American Horror Story" zoetrope that included images of Twisty the Clown and bee hives. They led to the waterfront outside the Hilton Bayfront Hotel, where a new teaser of the new season was screened.

At the end of the video, fans are encouraged to visit AHS7.com which shows another teaser featuring a legion of clowns. The title was revealed at the end of the video.

"AHS" season 7 will revolve around the 2016 U.S. election and feature a character based on President Donald Trump. It is expected to kick off on the election night, "illuminating and highlighting people who don't have a voice in our culture -- people who are ignored by the current administration and who are afraid and feel terrorized that their lives are going to be taken away."

Series co-creator recently said that with the Thursday announcement, "Suddenly... it will all make sense." The cast includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Cheyenne Jackson, Adina Porter, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Colton Haynes and the newly added Lena Dunham.
