'Scream' Casts Tyga and C.J. Wallace for Season 3 Reboot

Tyga will take the role of Jamal, Deion Elliot's older step-brother, while the son of late Notorious B.I.G. will portray socially awkward savant Amir, who dreams of making music one day.

AceShowbiz - MTV's "Scream" is gearing up for its upcoming season 3. According to The Hollywood Reporter, rapper-actors Tyga and Christopher Jordan Wallace a.k.a. C.J. Wallace have been tapped to play the leading roles in the six-hour third season.

Tyga will take the role of Jamal, Deion Elliot's older step-brother. Jamal is a hustler by nature, willing to work any angle to make ends meet for those he considers family. But when Jamal's ambitions don't line up with Deion's, it forces them to decide exactly how they fit into each other's lives. "Scream" marks Tyga's first series regular role, before previously appearing in several feature films such as "Logan" and "Fighting".

Meanwhile, C.J. will portray Amir. Amir is "a good kid whose strict parents expect him to keep clean during high school, stay away from girls and ultimately find his place within the family business. Amir is a socially awkward savant who dreams of making music one day, an ambition he must stifle and keep to himself. But when events make him the unexpected target of a killer, Amir finds himself in over his head and his worldview challenged. Facing death makes Amir reconsider what he wants for his life and the lengths he's willing to go to find his identity and chase his dreams-should he survive."

"Scream" also serves as the first series regular role for the son of the late Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans. His movie credits include "Kick", "Everything Must Go" and "Notorious", in which he played the younger version of his father.

The third season of "Scream", which will be filmed in Atlanta, follows Deion Elliot, a local star running back whose tragic past comes back to haunt him at the worst time, threatening his hard-earned plans for his future-and the lives of his unlikely group of friends.

Queen Latifah, Shakim Conpere and Yaneley Arty of Flaver Unit Entertainment as well as Brett Matthews executive produce, joining returning exec producers Harvey and Bob Weinstein via the Dimension TV umbrella and Wes Craven, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad. Meanwhile, Matthew Signer and Keith Levine serve as producers.

The three-night event horror series is set to premiere in March 2018.
